What is love about Brahmatal trek
The Brahmatal Trek wasn’t just another winter adventure — it was a journey that redefined peace, challenge, adventure and connection with nature. The trek Location in Uttarakhand’s Garhwal Himalayas, this trek offers snow-coverd trails, frozen lakes, beautifull snow coverd mountains views and campsites that make you forget the world below.
Camping at brahmatal trek made me realize — the Himalayas don’t just test you; they teach you how to slow down and listen.
The Beginning: Reaching the First Campsite of Brahmatal trek
Our trek start from Lohajung, a small Himalayan village at 7,600 ft. After a steep ascent through oak and rhododendron forests, we reached Bekaltal campsite — our first home under the stars.
The air smelled of pine and fresh snow.
The temperature dropped quickly after sunset.
The campfire became everyone’s favorite place to gather and share stories.
Camping Amid Snow: A Night to Remember
Sleeping inside a tent surrounded by snow was both thrilling and calming. The sound of the wind brushing through trees mixed with the occasional howl of distant dogs.
At Brahmatal Base Camp (10,400 ft), the night sky turned into a silver dome filled with millions of stars. Temperatures dipped to -5°C, but inside the tent, it felt like a cocoon — warm sleeping bags, hot soup, and laughter made everything perfect.
What I learned:
Always keep your water bottle upside down (it freezes from the top).
Layering is key — inner thermals, fleece, and down jacket.
Carry a small headlamp instead of using your phone’s flashlight.
The Magical Morning: Sunrise Over Trishul Peak
The most magical moment came on the fourth morning. As I unzipped my tent, the Trishul and Nanda Ghunti peaks glowed pink under the first rays of sunlight. The frozen Brahmatal Lake, believed to be the meditation site of Lord Brahma, shimmered like glass.
That sight alone was worth every step of the trek.
Pro Tip: If you’re planning the Brahmatal Trek 2025-26, carry polarized sunglasses — the snow glare can be intense during sunrise.
